At an average of just over 2 minutes long, the GP race course at the Nighthawk Ski & Bike park was incredibly fun! The course had so much variety that it never stopped challenging racers. The event had great laid back feeling — perfect weather, lots of support for racers , large rider turn-out — all which made for a fantastic start to the season. Our gravity DH team proved to be a fast crew with a great attitude. I was very proud to see all our U13 riders working together and supporting each other in the practice session. This teamwork really showed on race day as they owned to podium, taking the top four places. The rest of the gravity riders team continued to grab podium position with 1st in sport women, 1st master women, 1st master B men — plus our U15 and U17 riders showing real speed and a positive attitude all weekend.
I believe a big part of the younger rider success is due to their family support and their passion for cycling. Many thanks go out to the families that attended and cheered on the team all weekend. I consider these young riders to be very lucky to have such positive and supportive parents.
Thank you to all the race organizers, race officials, parents and our team members for a great weekend of fun and racing.
